Mission:
Empower ALL students to travel the road TO adulthood through education and training to careers.
Vision:
Re-imagining K-12 education to equip students
Over the last couple of years we have been working extremely hard to help students "connect the dots". The "dots" we are hoping our students connect before they graduate include their: passions, interests, skills, abilities, education, and dream lifestyle. We feel the PI-26 legislation has provided the framework at the right time for our district to articulate to students, staff, administration, parents, and community members all we do to help support students in regards to academic and career planning. It is our hope that by sharing our implementation plan you can gain a clear picture of where we are, and where we want to go as we continue to strive to support our students with the ultimate goal of producing college and career ready graduates always at the forefront of our minds.

- High School
- Student Led Conferences - Freshmen
- Our ACP process at the high school begins right away in 9th grade. We have transitioned this programming to fit into our our 9th grade Health curriculum. This is a year long process that concludes with a one-on-one interview with either our health teacher, Mrs. Antes, high school counselor, Mrs. Stielow or high school principal, Mr. Cole. During this interview students outline their plans and field questions about what they have learned. The most important piece of this process directly relates to their next steps in the process, and a plan is outlined on how to move forward.
- Monthly Mentor Monday Homeroom Time - Sophomores
- Mentor Monday's are designed for students to work in small groups with one mentor. The students work through an ACP guide created by Student Services. Mentors work to connect one-on-one with their mentees to better guide them through this exploration process.
- Junior Guidance Conferences
- The high school counseling department has focused much of their attention towards the district's goal of ensuring that each student is college and career ready by the time they graduate from Oostburg High School. This junior conference is meant to better assist both parents and student in understanding their current situation, and preparation for the overwhelming amount of information surrounding post-secondary options.
- Senior Student Led Conferences
- The purpose of this conference is for OHS Seniors to outline their specific plans for after graduation, and to discuss any unanswered questions that they may still have with the hopes of answering them before graduation. Seniors will also provide some personal insight regarding their overall high school experience at OHS.
- High School Curriculum
- We believe the ACP process is not a "stand alone" add on curriculum. Instead, we believe it is essential for our students to keep this process in the forefront of their minds throughout their entire high school career. This is exactly why you will find ACP integrated into all our classrooms no matter the subject area. When students are able to "connect the dots" to their future in their course work their success is directly correlated. Our Business, Technical Education, and English departments along with our Health department take the lead on this approach and provide students opportunities to continue to explore, question, experience and plan for their futures.

- High School Principal's Message (bi-weekly)
- Mr. Cole utilizes this communication outlet to relay critical school information to parents. Mr. Cole's topics vary throughout the year, but one constant is his effort to encourage and promote college and career readiness discussions between students and parents.
- Course Registration Process
- All course registration forms require a parent signature prior to completion. This is may seem like a small thing but we believe it is essential to keep the communication between school and parents at the forefront, and by having a required signature it encourages dialog between all invested parties aimed at supporting the student. The registration process is another attempt to help our students "connect the dots", and forces each student to not only select courses but prompts them to complete a series of questions highlighting where they are in regards to connecting their dots. Below are the registration forms for each grade level:
