Good morning everyone, For the foreseeable future, learning is going to look quite different. It is important to know that as your school counselor I will be available as a resource to support you through this challenging time. Please try to focus on the things that are within your control, and I would like to highlight two specific areas for intentional focus:
Balance - now more than ever is a time where balance in your life is critical. School, family, and self-care, just to name a few. All the focus is not expected to be on your school work. Take time to be with your family, improve your well-being, reflect on your personal goals, explore future plans...the list is endless.
Self motivation - your teachers will not have direct contact with you to help keep you focused on the task at hand, so it is up to you to self-motivate. As you get older, this will be a vital skill in work, college, military, and everyday adult life. This is an opportunity for a great deal of personal growth.
I would like to highlight that I will be available throughout this time and would like to encourage you to reach out to me via email or phone. I am willing and able to arrange Google chats, hangouts, or virtual meetings, if needed. I am specifically available to help you in the following areas:
Social/emotional or mental health changes -- anxiety, stress, interpersonal difficulties, etc.
Academic and career planning
I will be checking my email daily (except on weekends and during Spring Break). Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. It will continue to be my goal to respond to you within 24 hours on instructional days! I look forward to working with you in the weeks to come, stay safe! Mr. Cole email@example.com 920-564-6733
