Mr. Cole's Intro:
I am very proud to be able to work as the OHS counselor. I strive to help students develop the necessary social, emotional, and academic skills needed to be successful in their post-secondary pursuits. We have worked hard to build a career exploration curriculum for our students. This curriculum utilizes Career Cruising, a career exploration resource, as a guide for our students to actively investigate their interests, strengths and career possibilities for life after OHS. The OHS faculty is working hard to implement this focus into their curriculums, and with this partnership with the counseling department we feel we are fostering an environment that supports and encourages purposeful future planning. I am very involved in our student’s academic performance, and help to facilitate a wide array or intervention strategies for our struggling learners. Our students face a great deal of emotional and social challenges during these years, and I am here to help students work through these situations and assist them towards better understanding the problem and ultimately discovering an appropriate resolution. Finally, I view myself as a great resource for students, parents and community members. If anyone has any questions please don’t hesitate to call or email and I promise if I don’t know the answer I will work hard to find it!
This is my 10th year serving in the Oostburg School District! I am a proud father of 2 amazing boys (Blake 4 yrs & Griffin 2.5 yrs), and husband to Mindy who works as an Registered Nurse in Sheboygan at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital. We love living in this area and we strive to lead very active lifestyles by walking, running, exercising, biking, golfing and playing basketball.
I am an Oostburg Alumni and have enjoyed working in the guidance department for almost 4 years. My husband Kevin (who works at DeTroye Electric) and I have three children Carson and Anthony who are in the OMS and Josie who go to OES. We love doing just about anything outside as a family. Fishing, kayaking, and water sports are a few of our favorites.
